They first attacked in around 780AD and were finally defeated in 1066AD
Viking warriors always had to be dressed for battle because a battle could be called at any time.
Due to Icelands geographical isolation from the mainland of Europe, no humans ever set foot on Iceland until the medieval times.
The Vikings found America 500 years before Christopher Columbus set sail.
It took 80 oak trees to build a long boat.
The Vikings navigated
by depending of the instincts of birds. They took several ravens on there ship and let them go one by one, if the ravens flew back to the ship then the Vikings had to sail west.
The Vikings first raded an English abbey, Lindisfame in 793AD.
Vikings made their own soap as well as grooming tools, such as tweezers and razors.
